The Cyrix battery combiner is a microprocessor-controlled boosted relay that automatically connects batteries installed in parallel when one battery reaches the preset voltage (indicating that the battery is charging) and disconnects them when the voltage falls below the swing voltage (indicating that one or more batteries are discharging). Cyrix battery combiners are an excellent replacement for diode isolators. Their key feature is that they have near-zero voltage loss, so the output voltage of the alternators or battery chargers does not need to be increased.
